This is the surprise I found when I got up this morning. Yesterday morning it was raining, and it was just partially cloudy by evening.

It was above freezing, so the snow had already melted off of the road in front of our house.

This was the first photo I took when I went outside. The bush and tree branches still had a lot of snow on them.

The snow was already off a lot of these branches by the time I took this photo..

The starlings or blackbirds (I'm not sure which they were) appeared to like the weather. They were singing their little hearts out.

This poor little robin didn't seem so happy though...
The saying about March coming in like a lion was certainly true this year. It even had perfect timing, with the snow coming in the early hours of March 1. I only hope the second part of the saying will be just as accurate, and March will go out like a lamb.
