There’s been a lot of debate lately about whether or not we should improve sex education in our schools. Many more conservative states have actually declined Federal money to teach comprehensive sex education in schools, opting instead to teach abstinence-only curriculum as their sex education program. As it turns out, this totally doesn’t work at all. The states that utilize abstinence-only sex education programs have the highest teen pregnancy rates in the nation, and the states that teach a comprehensive sex education curriculum (including information about birth control and STD’s) have the lowest rates of teen pregnancy.

I get confused still. Where to put that and then why?
Why do they call it the birds and the bees?
If the baby dies? Should you bring it home and have show and tell? Rick Santorum thinks so.

Teens can't make good decisions if they're not informed. It's pretty simple even though some on the right would want us to believe otherwise.

I can remember hearing that song when I was a kid. lol
I just found this:
"The birds and the bees" is an English-languageidiomatic expression that refers to courtship and sexual intercourse, and is usually used in reference to teaching someone, often a young child, about sex and pregnancy. The phrase is evocative of the metaphors and euphemisms often used to avoid speaking openly and technically about the subject.
According to tradition, the birds and the bees is a metaphorical story sometimes told to children in an attempt to explain the mechanics and good consequences of sexual intercourse through reference to easily observed natural events. For instance, bees carry and deposit pollen into flowers, a visible and easy-to-explain example of male fertilisation. Another example, birds lay eggs, a similarly visible and easy-to-explain example of female ovulation.
