Enceladus [en-SELL-ah-dus] is one of the innermost moons of Saturn. It is quite similar in size to Mimas, but has a smoother, brighter surface. Enceladus reflects almost 100 percent of the sunlight that strikes it.

Isn't that an amazing photo? The detail in it is unbelievable...

That moon has obviously taken a huge amount of hits when you consider all the craters. Our ability to photograph space came about because curious and intelligent people asked questions, sought the answers. A friend of mine worked on a portion of the Hubble. He says the answers are in the questions. It seems like a miracle to me, that we can see that far.

That would have been awesome to be one of the people who helped build the Hubble.

That is beautiful. Is it ice or sand or what? It sure is bright.

The surface is ice apparently. It says in the information that there may even be liquid water under the surface of the ice.
