This is a great way for everyone to interact and get to know one another, using a virtual party atmosphere. Feel free to chat with one another, just like in an actual party.

A couple of rules, however. No political discussions, no serious religious discussions, and lets keep this from getting X-rated please. Let's keep this light and enjoyable. Everyone's welcome!

Enjoy the Happy New Year 2012 Party!

McSpockey, you are too funny. :D What a fun idea.
I'll try to make a visit on New Year's Eve. Being on the west coast, we get to watch the ball drop in Times Square at 9 o'clock which is excellent. We swill champagne and have sushi; it's our tradition. I'll hoist a glass of bubbly and pop in to join the party.

Thanks!

Back when we had Direct TV there were a couple of local channels we weren't able to get by antenna because of our location near some foothills. Because of that, for those two networks we were able to get the East coast and West coast versions. (One was NBC, I forget which network the other was) Anyway, with this setup, even though we were in MST we were able to watch the ball drop in Times Square live, and then again 3 hours later when it was televised on the West coast. That was pretty cool actually...

I just posted an apology to everyone. Someone had apparently played a joke. I read an article and clicked on the link to leaderboard in the article. It said he was at the top.

I believed it and in my excitement I rushed here and spread the word . Afterwards I cleared my history from my computer as I do every few days.

When I logged back in I clicked on the Real Leaderboard and saw I had misquoted. I can't find the article. I have searched. Apparently it has been pulled.

I have learned my lesson and will never ever make a statement about anything I read as being fact unless I verify it first.

Again I apologize to everyone especially to Mc Spocky

Please forgive me for making this mistake.

FFOR, that was an understandable error. If McSpocky isn't Number One, maybe he will be by the end of the day!

Holiday Warning...

Please, take care of yourself.

A recent joint study conducted by the Department of Health and the Department of Motor Vehicles indicates that 23% of traffic accidents are alcohol related.

This means that the remaining 77% are caused by @!$%#s who drink bottled water, Starbucks, soda, juice, energy drinks, and @!$%# like that.

Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol. They cause three times as many accidents.

This message is sent to you by someone who worries about your safety.

Teresa - I save some of the Bing images often. Right click on the photo (not in one of their little box links) and choose "View Background Image." The photo will come up in a different window. Right click again and then choose "Set As Desktop Background." I don't think it will work on any of the motion ones, though.

Then, if you want to, before you set it as the desktop background, you can copy it to a photo program you may have. I've done that with a couple that I really like and may want to go back to.

Shelby, born and raised in Los Angeles; lived in South Pasadena for many many years; only went once to the Rose Parade. And had I known what it was going to be like, I wouldn't have done it that time. I did make it out to the Rose Bowl swap meets though. They were the best. I am now living in Texas and I know they have tons of huge swap meets out here, but I haven't gone yet.

Tons of vintage stuff at Rose Bowl. I was born in Montebello, lived in Monterey Park for a minute or two then got married and went a few miles further north to South Pass. The commute to L.A. wasn't bad, but my boss moved to the Century City branch because he bought a house in Cheviot Hills. That extra commute was a testament to my loyalty to my boss. He's still a great friend to this day. I really liked Arcadia and of course who doesn't love San Marino. I always expected to see June Cleaver in her pearls, shirtwaist dress and an apron and high heels standing on the porches of those gorgeous stately homes.

Santa Clarita area. Beautiful. And not nearly as much crazy traffic. What a beautiful area. You must love it.

Tink - Owned TB's and raced them at Santa Anita in the 80's. I remember growing up and going to the track, and looking through the infield bars (railings, not drinking) especially during the turf races when they seem to go right past you.

Like Glendora - up against the mountains. I live in the mountains, now.

Cobalt - my best girlfriend went to Mark Keppel HS (I went to SGHS) and went to college at PCC. There is one fantastic restaurant in South Pas (if it is still there) - Shiros. To die for! On South Fair Oaks, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, the traffic in Santa Clarita is getting worse since it went through a huge development craze. If there was a postage size piece of property, they'd put a 2 story house on it. Really sad. When I was 18 years old, I owned a cabin in my little mountain town. To get to it from the freeway, there were about 3 or 4 signals and the main road in wasn't even paved, yet. Now, there are over 20 signals to get to the freeway. Still - it beats the San Fernando Valley!!!

ERich - worked in Pasadena - American Cancer Society on Hill just north of Colorado. Another great (fast food) place just across from the college - Taipan. Then worked in Monrovia - Childhood Cancer Foundation on Huntington Dr.

I miss climbing and the native American culture. Even so, I do not think I could return to CO. I have never been to CA. I am likely dreaming. Moving cost money.

I went to a meeting in CO where concerned locals were trying to protect land that had Indian ceremonial and/or burial stones. The tribes and the event had a profound impact on us all. Several tribes sent representatives to teach us and include us all into a prayer circle. There were American flags hanging at the entrance to show everyone where we were meeting. A corporation that had the property next to the land wanted to purchase the land. We were hoping the land would be returned to the Indians. I think the corporation called the police and they showed up and forced us to remove the flags???? The tribes all handled the situation with more grace than I felt. Amazing people. Amazing state. It has changed a lot from what I have heard.

Genevieveva - I've been to Denver but when I was very small. My mom went to school for a time in Denver and we took a family visit back. I can relate to Native Americans in that my grandparents were teachers in the Indian Service and my mom grew up on a couple of different reservations. She spent time in Colorado, but mostly New Mexico and Arizona. She had always wanted her ashes to be spread on top of Black Mesa, an inactive volcano, at the Santa Clara rez in NM. We used to say that she was such an instigator, she would reactivate the volcano. While we didn't make it to the top, she is underneath a big cottonwood at the base of the Mesa. It became a very happy occasion for us as it was my older sister, my daughter and my granddaughter who visited the reservations, Camel Rock outside Santa Fe, etc. We returned a lot of the pottery, turquoise jewelry and other artifacts to the San Ildefonso and Santa Clara reservations. As far as moving to CA - it's expensive, but you really can't beat the weather (no real seasons, though).

McSpocky - Duarte is a good place to leave an "ex." I left mine there, also, after 11.5 years. I lived up at the top of Mount Olive Drive and we lost our house in the 1980 Bradbury/Duarte Mesa fire. We rebuilt, and then went our ways about 5 years later.

Belle - WAY back in the day, I dated a football player from TCHS! Turns out he is (or was as of a number of years ago) a captain in the Arcadia Fire Dept. Boy, he sure changed! Then again, I suppose I had, too. A long time girlfriend got married and settled in TC for a while. That area, as well as Arcadia, has sure changed due to the influx of Asians. They had lovely little houses in a settled neighborhood. Then, the wealthy Asians would come in, buy the house, tear it down and put in what came to be known as Chinese Mansions. Same happened in my childhood neighborhood of San Gabriel.

The world is so interconnected, if you only ask or give a little info!

My baby sister was born in Monterey Park. We moved back to Florida when she was a baby and I was six. Then back to California- Glendora then to Covina. I went to Center Jr. High then one year at Azusa High then we moved back to Florida. My spoiled older sister just Had to go to Baldwin Park High because that's where her Bratty friends went to school. She was too good to go to Azusa High. My Dad had a Painting Business and we went where his work took him. I loved San Gabriel Zoo and Mt Baldy. I was born in Florida as were my parents and my other siblings. Shelby, I asked to have my ashes spread at the top of Mt. Sneffels, CO. I know that is never going to happen. I will be lucky if I end up in some creek. I understand your moms desire and realization it was just that - a wish. I spent more time in areas of CO that were above the mile high city. Denver is the place to go if you want items that only a city can supply. I climbed several of the 13ers and 14ers in CO but Sneffels was so beautiful and personally touching for me. The pictures in the link don't do justice to the beauty. The added panorama link/view helps but being there is always better. I loved hiking and camping in those days. I spent a lot of time in the Leadville and Buena Vista area. I loved the hot springs and the small tiny playful deer that live in that area. I forget their name but they play like puppies. I learned that mountain lion dens smell like a giant cat box and bears will make a noise that sounds like pigs when you surprise them - trust me, you are to close and need to leave. During this period in my life I made it to Yellowstone during elk breeding season. It was amusing, loud and a bit frightening having male elks running through camps where you are sleeping in a little pup tent . I would never want to be a female elk. Ouch. I saw so much wild life on that trip and I wish I had not put all my pictures on slides. I even make it to the dinosaur national park. That part of the nation is beautiful and I wish I had seen more. Never enough time. Traveling that area makes you realize how small yet invasive we are. American Indians have always had the correct philosophy about life and it should impress us all that they knew we were on a planet long before our science corrected our misconception. That and many other aspects about their culture, views and beliefs.

Every place I have visited had benefits. The best food selection I ever had was in NY and New Jersey. New York is so culturally rich. I only went there on business trips and love the smell of the New Jersey soil on a spring day. They have real dirt:-)) I spent a month in Puerto Rico which was second of my food list. Island life is all about diversity. I had a wonderful time and loved all aspect of island life. I would love to go to all the Hawaii islands. I do not have the money to move which makes not knowing which place fits my disposition basically useless. If I can come up with the funds, I have a chance to go to Japan and stay with a friend. I would really enjoy that. Living in the deep south has burned me out. My mother lives here. It is the only reason I have stayed. Being around family is important. I am gong to stop babbling now. Happy New Year to All.

Thank you for taking me with you. Well, genevieveva, you never know, you just might end up exactly where you want - Mt. Sneffels. It looks beautiful. The reason why we couldn't get to the top of Black Mesa is because it would be serious rock climbing darn near straight up. We figured she would be happy at the base under the cottonwood. My sister had a dream and felt my mom's presence and said she was very happy that we did it. I'm thinking she never thought we'd do it. And, actually, we had to sneak in!

Best food I ever had was when I was in Lafayette, LA on business. I made it my mission to eat myself into oblivion! And I fell in love with Zydeco music! I can't understand the true Zydeco, as it's in Cajun French, but I really enjoy it. I want to throw a summer party with a Cajun theme. If you're in CA, you're invited - anyone who is in CA is invited! I have a small house on two lots, so the back lot would be strictly Cajun party zone!

I've been to two islands in Hawaii and enjoyed them muchly. But I'm really in love with Mexico as my "second ex" was born and raised there. We would drive, and go to the places that tourists don't. It was fantastic having my own travel guide, and I miss it terribly! I don't think I'd go by myself, now, because of being a gringa in what has become a bad drug country. Still, I want to buy property in San Felipe, on the Sea of Cortez.

When we broke up, I sent back all our photos with him - I could never look at them again. Now, I'm kind of sorry I did.

Shelby; I would love to take you up on the cajun, especially a Cajun French party in CA. I always wanted to visit both CA and New Orland's. My step father loved it and use to play the piano in New Orlands. My mother loves Vegas which is anther place I missed. Oh, and how could I forgot Mexico? So many people I know vacation there, or been there to visit family. I have been told wonderful stories. I know two guys that moved there. I have not heard from them. My loss. Another part of the world I have missed. Gosh, I should of made more time. Short Life and not enough money.

I can picture you all sneaking into Black Mesa for your mom. I would do something like that and love every minute. I would go with you all even if I was not family:-)) When younger and I able to run, it was my nature to sneak into places. All in fun mind you. I was not some house breaker or anything. Just did not like a sign saying "no admittance or trespassing". Your mom is so proud of you guys. I know she is. I would be if I was her. To bad no one took a video of the adventure. It would be a big hit but it would also be evidence. Na, you do not have a video, trust me.

I am sorry you let those photo go. I am so guilty of much worse. I wonder if it is a female thing - not wanting conflict or the desire to just move forward? Na, that would be giving me too much credit. You are lucky it was only photos. Trust me.

Cheers

Wow, Shelby, is a rose colored boa normal for your area? I have a learned fear of snakes with is not logical except for my area. We have just about every type of snake. We have several natives which I have ran into that can kill you with a bite. Too many type of constrictors were imported and doing all to well. Snakes are considered a sign of wisdom. My step father says that if there is a snake around, I will run into it. I am so happy you found a cottonwood tree and a place that made everyone happy.

Two years ago, I lost a dear friend unexpectedly. She was suppose to arrive in FL and did not show up. I started searching and calling everyone - known or not. I found out she visited AZ first. Her friend in AZ said she got sick there, went to the hospital and did not get treated. She flew home to Canada. I reached an old neighbor in Canada and found she made it home but died two days later from a virus she pick up in the states of all things. I could not stop thinking about her. I was not coping well. Had no way to celebrate her life and could not go to Canada to her service. I finally made up a reef that would float. I attached moss and some natural orchids and air plants. My parents and I got into a boat and took it to the river mouth. Launched it to hopefully float down to the ocean. Anytime you can not join family or friends to celebrating someones life and share their love of life, it can be hard on the living. Today, it is harder and harder to make it to services or travel. I recomment doing something personal that will help in the healing process. They will know and you will hopeful find peace.

Hey Girls

I'm dressed. Wearing that slinky slit up to Yonder blue dress. The stiletto heels hurt like hell but I'll wear them as long as I can. I look Absolutely Fabulous. I took the top knot down as suggested by Minnie and am wearing my long hair down. It helps keep my back warm. No one told me the dress was open way down to There in the back. That meant I could not wear my panty hose. My thong showing with the little Rhinestones in the back is adorable.

The Diamonds Mstanley loaned me are to die for. I have super glued them to my skin so they won't fall off or be stolen. I will return them as soon as the glue wears off. I smell good too. Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds. I was able to purchase from ebay , long gloves to match my dress. I won them for $9.03. Such a bargain.

Shelby, Morgan was my favorite horse for years then one day I decided I liked the look and spirit of a Morgan and Arabian mix. It had the broader chest long lovely mane and tail of a Morgan with a smaller head and spirit of the Arabian. Enjoyed the spirited beauties. Even their side ways struts telling you to, "let me run, release my head".

When I moved to FL, I stated riding my step sisters Paso Fino horses which she gets mostly from Cuba. They do not look like much in the fields or barn. They look smaller, do not run like other horses. If you can remember an old Clint Eastwood movie where he is riding down a hill on a stunning beautiful black horse while not bouncing or moving at all, it was a Paso Fino. The gait is hard to describe. It is a perfect four beat neither lateral nor diagonal. Each foot hits in order; being left hind, left front, right hind right front, a natural walk or rapid gait which is smooth as glass. It is natural for the breed and has a wonderful sound on wood or otherwise. In shows, the gait and how the horse holds its self with pride and beauty is judged and is music to the ear and body. Once on their back, their look, beauty gait and smoothness of ride can not be surpass. Still love the spirited ride of the Mogan mix but at my age, it is not as wise.

I have had the honor to compared multiple breeds we owned or have ridden over the years, this breed is one I would highly recommend riding. I never thought I would change my mind about a horse breed away from Morgan. I used to show and rarely raced horses. Most of my time was for the joy and pleasure of the animal and riding. If you ever get a chance to ride a Paso Fino, it is well worth the experience and the joy of the riding this horse. Even beginners will find the experience easier as long as the disposition is gentle. What shocked me, the disposition of the horse changes once you are on their back, they even look larger than life.

Wow! What a fun and strange video! I think all of us need one of those but then it would be sad after awhile.

I've never seen the Dresden Doll videos before. I saw some of their others on the side.

Are you going out to celebrate Near Year's? I thought I might but I may just get some pizza, watch TV, party here on newsvine (while getting smarter ha), and go out to do something tomorrow.

The whole thing was in black and white. LOL

That's another reason why it's hard to tell. But the show girls had costume people who matched the women's skin color or near it. Just like pro ice skaters or even movie stars. It looks like a revealing dress but it will have a nude fabric designed into the dress most of the time. Then you have the boobs hanging out that should have at least a pastie on it. LOL

With all that money and they still look trashy.

Hi, Darrah, that was a good clip. Illustrates perfectly why Sally Rand was semi-respectable even tho she was basically a burlesquer performer. Tease, don't show too much, and have a gimmick.

I do have a true story about Sally Rand altho second-hand. A prof told about when he was in college, the frat made her the honorary fraternity mom or whatever it was. The had her at a formal dinner and everything. No shenanigans, they treated her like a queen.

I recall some docu with a colleague saying that Sally created such a lovely effect, and you didn't really see anything - that no one could complain about her.

I'm afraid I've never been a big New Years Eve person. I'm usually asleep on the couch by about 9:30 p.m.

A few years ago, my little grand daughter wanted to come spend NYE with me and stay up. I just didn't know how I would manage, seriously! My daughter told me to just go to bed, if she wanted to stay up she would. Well, that didn't seem fun. So, we were hanging around watching TV when, about 8:30 (PST) I got an idea.

They always show the New York Times Square ball drop. (light bulb goes on!) So, I started pretending I was getting real tired. Yawned, stretched, and changed the channel about 10 minutes 'till.

She bought it,we watched it, and she said, "Is that all there is?" Yup - we went to bed around 9:30. I could never do that again - she can tell time!

I'm gonna have dinner with relatives, they are making a big feast and friends and family are invited, so it should be quite busy. They bought about $300 of fireworks (the big, illegal kind, shhhh...) so I will watch those go off. If it's still early enough, as I drive home, I may catch some more fireworks on the way through other neighborhoods, and maybe if I get home in time, I can still watch the South Beach and North Beach fireworks going off from my balcony. Those usually go off until pretty late due to all the clubbing spots, and especially when it's a weekend, so I should catch a few regardless. A few years ago, a friend stood me up on New Years at the last minute and all I could find in terms of food was pizza. Had a Papa John's delivered to my place, sat on the balcony and ate, while having a panoramic view of fireworks in Miami. It turned out being pretty fun and relaxing after all, plus much safer and less stressful than dealing with blocked off streets, traffic and the usual drunks on the road :)

S'okay about the mistake. I didn't notice. He was the first gay person I ever met and it was kinda creepy at first but after listening to him talk while doing my hair I started thinking he's really not that different than me. We lost touch after he went to Sweden. I still pray he's happy now. He was so much fun and much more a southern bell than I could ever hope to be which thank God I never wanted . He was just so Prissy sometimes.

My ex-husband's cousin is gay. Went from Carlos to Fabbiana. Thing is, after a while, you just see them for who they are and don't even think about it. He was one of the funniest people I've ever known, always "up" and I adored him dearly. It's weird, but gays ran on that side of his family. A couple of Fabby's brothers were gay, although they never came out and admitted it.

When we first met, he would kind of hang out in the back halls of the hotel my ex's sister owned in Mexico. He wasn't sure la gringa would approve or cast aspersions. After we all went out for dinner, we ended up being good friends. That was one family member I was sad to loose track of and I think of Fabby often.

I have always enjoyed different people and cultures. One of my childhood friends was gay. She is living an amazing life with someone she loves. Her soul mate. It is wonderful to see that because her journey was not easy. I meet an interesting young man at Bell Labs. He was so talented and had the best darn parties. His partner could out cook anyone I knew. He was so calm and relaxing to be around which balanced his partner. I always felt so safe and relaxed when at their home. Sometimes I think those individuals have what is best of both our sexes in one body. I have wondered if they are more balanced in some strange way. Who knows? They have so much to deal with - that most of us could never understand. The chance to find happiness and peace of mind is something we all desire and deserve.

Some of the people after the December Holidays Party.

This is exactly why I left the party after only a few days. I was wearing one of my "virtually free evening gowns" and just happened to need a cold shower--with my clothes on. I must have fallen asleep after getting out because I woke up with my head on the toilet. Guess who was standing there with a camera?

You didn't see that pic because I threatened to never come to another party of his. Maybe that's why he's letting me be first or almost first at this party and possibly the next one.

What McSpocky doesn't know is that a lot of us have pics and video tapes of him. I caught him at a RAV party for teens, mostly. LOL

Darrah, that is a great party starter. Keep them coming lady.

Tonight, I am sitting here thinking about my youth. Currently, I am thankful my friends did not have digital video and youtube.

Hummm, Awww, ok, I have changed my mind. It is a female thing. Changing our mind happens so fast, it can not even be caught on ultra high speed film.

I wish I had some of those events caught on video. I would be laughing MAO and red faced. So would my friends.

Lebowsky I didn't know you had my love birds litter mate. Mines named Mango cause he's so sweet plus he looked like one when we found him in a mango tree in St. Maartin. I swear we didn't smuggle him home. He flew into the boat and we didn't know it till we'd put too many miles under the keel to turn back. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Radio I wouldn't recognize that red dress because I didn't see it before you got covered in mud.

I don't care what kind of hat I wear as long as it's not red. I might be confused with one of those ladies who spend their time at lunch and playing bingo. I may be old but that's not my idea of a good time. Give me men lots of men......... to cater to all my whims just like the pool boys do.

And since Richard Burton never showed up could somebody lend me some diamonds to wear? I want to glitter tonight!!!!!!!!

Leb- No not a Quaker but the same shaped head. He's a Love Bird. The photo was small so I made a mistake but he has the same markings and he's green with a peach face. He loves to ride around in my pocket but since we got the new cat, I won't let him. The cat sleeps on top of Mangos cage and it freaks me out but so far they've gotten along. I babysat a cockatoo and a Mccaw and that convinced me not to get a big bird. They loved shouting "Momma give me a kiss" right in my ear. Gave me a headache and I'd put them in their cages and they'd scream for me all day. MOMMA MOMMA over and over until I let them out. I'll take my little ones..

Lil G is about 2 dress sizes bigger than a Parakeet or almost 10 - 11 inches long but at least half of that is tail. G is shy about picture taking because he is WANTED in a dozen or so states, the charges are completely trumped though. He turned up at my door as one of those, DAD, Looky what I got moments, that was almost 2 years ago.

Here is a good video that closely resembles G's coloring showing his blue wing feathers, and size. Loud? Yep he sure can be, but we are learning to talk it out better, but he sure has a killer alarm call when he sees "danger" (the man). He is quite the charmer though :o) Yoshi

I liked the video of Yoshi. Mango likes to lay in my hand. He gives kisses. He can say Music, Buddy and Lizzie and night night and morning. Once in a while he says luv you. I have a Parakeet and a Cockatiel too so they've learned together.

The parakeet is named Lizzie Belle and Buddy is the Cockatiel and also the oldest. He's 22 years old now. Mango is 14 and lizzie is 5. The parakeet was kind of a rescue. The owner hated him and was going to turn him loose so I took him off her hands. I keep the radio on next to their cages and they sing and dance and chatter up a storm but they don't get too loud.

None of them are afraid of the cat and mango has pulled Mel's whiskers. He watches but has not tried to put his paw in the cage. He just started sleeping on the cages a few weeks ago.

Ohhhh, my daughter and I had the dearest parakeet - Pete. He learned to speak, but you really had to listen to understand what he was saying. He used to mimic the microwave and we found out by accident. My daughter and I were watching TV and we heard the microwave beep, beep, beep. I looked at her, she looked at me, and I said, "I didn't know you were microwaving anything." She said, "I'm not." We realized it was Pete! He lived until he was 15 and was the best bird ever.

That's how Lizzie Belle is. He is a he, but the people that gave him to me had named him that and it stuck. He says a few phrases like gimme a kiss, night night, dance and music. Occasionally he says I love you and he says Mornin when I uncover his cage. When music is playing he starts tweeting and then his voice will change to parakeet talk with so much stuff its hard to understand. He mimics the microwave and the tea kettle and lately has been trying to say crazy cat which is what hubby calls Mel.

I let the girl at the vets name my kitty and that was a mistake. She named him Mellow and he's every thing but. So he's stuck with being called MEL which suits him because he makes us laugh like Mel Brooks did. He's a Bengal Cat descended from the Asian Leopard and Egyptian Mau. And he thinks he is big and I thank God he's not.

It's past midnight so I'm no longer Cinder what's her name.

Peanut and Snoop like the kitty hat and both want one. They keep trying to vote you up twice. The problem, I know that if I ordered them, they would not allow me to put them on. I would come away with with less skin. It is bad enough that Peanut pulls my hair if I forget to give them their nightly treat. I will tell them I ordered hats and hope they forget.

Hey FFR! I just saw some Strawberry Hill at the local grocery store. Put one bottle in a beautiful wine bag and took it for Christmas. There were some beautiful wines/champagnes there that others brought as hostess gifts; when mine was taken out of the bag, we all had a laugh. But it was the first one to go! I brought ten bottles, and every last one was gone by the end of the evening. There were two bottles of Dom Perignon and a bottle of Krug unopened when we left. But not a drop of Boone's Farm was to be had.

Best hangover cure in the world, bar none: Menudo. Go to an authentic Mexican restaurant [call first, because not all make menudo] and get a ton of menudo. And posole for me because I don't do tripe [posole is menudo without tripe]. Grab some corn tortillas and you're set. And if a cold glass of milk sounds good to you, don't do it. I made that mistake in my twenties.

Me too! My brother drinks about a gallon a day. Unbelievable. But he drinks two huge glasses of Ovaltine every day and has since my Mom made for him as a kid. Pretty funny. Then he just polishes the gallon off with meals. I even like nonfat milk ... you know, the blue stuff.

Radio Free - try the lactose free milk. It started disagreeing with me until I switched. It tastes just like real milk only they have taken out what upsets the digestive system. I only do whole milk, though. If I'm drinking low fat, I'd rather have water.

Don't get soy milk, though - ugh!

Lots of water is the best prevention, while drinking and before bed. But, if you wake up with that head that is 8 sizes too big, there is nothing better than a little hair of the dog that bit ya. I recommend a Spicy Bloody Mary.

If I make a New Year's Resolution, I'll have to break the last one. Roughly ten years ago, I resolved to never make another New Year's Resolution. I've managed to keep it, despite the urging of all too many people.

Oh, and RFA, sometimes it can be interesting [to certain people in the audience] when someone wears a dress that has "shrunk." :-D

My New Year's Resolution is to make twice as many International friendships as I did last year through the Internet and social media. I made 59 Linked-In connections from outside of the US in 2011... so my goal for 2012 is 120 (10 per month).

I consider it my contribution to the development of a human global consciousness, world peace, equal rights and justice and environmental awareness. Our capacity to communicate is greater than it has ever been in history. Please join me, reach out and broaden your horizons and your base of acquaintances, it will change the world for the better and forever!

Wow, I can't even remember when the last time was that I wore a dress. There isn't even one in my closet. I'm levis and tee shirts, unless it's dress up, then it's levis and a nice blouse. Thank god I work a job that this is acceptable. I think it comes from working Mahogany Row during my secretarial years - business dresses and high heels.

The only thing with heels, now, are by horse boots!

I guess my new years resolution would be to never wear a dress again (or bra!) - I can do that!

Teresa -- One secret to avoiding hangover is to drink water, too. Part of the effect of the hangover is merely dehydration, so if you keep drinking water thru the evening, or at least before bed, it will help.

There are other things that allegedly help, but I can't remember what they are but they are not commonly available anyway.

The thing I used to do in my 20s when recovering from the night before was to eat several Three Musketeers Candy bars, and drink several Mountain Dews. I don't know if it really did something to help, or if it was a placebo effect, but it always seemed to work for me.

Okay, this is serious. Our MJL is pretty down in the dumpster. She's been asking for a full body massage over at the Lounge for what seems like eons now. I've tried to cheer her up, but it's impossible. Why, if it weren't for her making me laugh til I peed about her depression, it would be sad. She seemed to cheer up once I put a cute little red and white striped hat on her. But not by much. Anyone know anyone who knows somebody that can help MJL out? Just remember to let them know she looks younger than she is. I happened to get a pic on my phone cam after she put on the hat. Massage Please?

hmm...when I feel down and I'm between massages (I give myself a spa day every 6 months -- my way to treat myself)...well it depends on why I'm depressed!

    • If I'm mad/depressed (things out of control, etc), I go to my car and scream as loud as I can with the windows up (because I don't want neighbors to call the cops and the car is semi-sound proof). In the past, when I had my Disney annual pass, I'd go on Haunted Mansion and scream along with the soundtrack in the stretch room (which is why none of my family will stand next to me in that area)
    • If I'm sad/depressed (bad things happening, etc), I take a REALLY hot shower and have a good cry -- the shower is to relax the muscles as you tense up and cry. Make sure to drink lots of water after crying though or you'll get a BITCH of a headache afterwards!

    Hope this helps hun :)

Here's a poll (Coral Atlas came up with this. Just joking.)

If we could take over one of these locations for this party, where would you choose?

    A) Disneyland / World

    B) Vegas

    C) Atlantic City

    D) New York City

I'm at least going to show Hawaii with fireworks. I was leaning towards Atlantic City because of the ocean and the old-fashioned boardwalk and prams. But to heck with that.

I guess that makes two for Hawaii. We can pick up js while we're at it. ( But not in the way it might sound to some.) LOL

That would be a great party theme for Halloween. We should give it a try some time. We could come up with unique frightening characters and role play them out on each other. Sort of like a haunted house theme or a floating ship that is getting close to a favorite island. Babbling again. Need to turn off my brain. McSpocky, a few of us are training in earnest. Here we are training for the rigorous carpal flex.

    Carpal Flex
    Continued Training

Sometimes we train so much, we end up exhausted, but we will never give up. We will train in order to be able to compete with the masters next NYE.

    Overtraining.

Hilarious ... can't believe its length! Oh man. No one is hot when they're very drunk, but in my own opinion, there's nothing worse than a drunk woman. First time I ever drank, in my mid-20's and I drank red wine, I had to be carried out. Ugh. Didn't drink again for a couple of years. Sometimes I wish I would have blacked out! Dang all the luck.

    Great video! Thanks!

Those were funny and the bubbles added were a nice touch.

My body never allowed me to get that drunk. I always got sick before that point. Sorry and yes, yunk. I swore every time I will never drink again. Now, at my age, I rarely drink. If I do have a drink, it is one or two. Boring old fart:-)

Yep, it only took a couple of times of feeling out of control that did for me... It was then I decided anything distilled was not for me. I decided to stick with natural stuff and fruit. You know, peaches and herbs.

It is 1755 here. A little over 6 hours til it's midnight for me. If you men feel a flutter against your mouth and you girls feel a flutter against your cheek, do not be scared. It will not harm you. It's only me blowing kisses your way.

Same with if you men feel like your being rubbed against just hold onto it because it will be me dancing with you.

Hey all! Happy New Year's Eve Eve! Thanks for the invite, McSpocky. I'll try to drop by tomorrow, but my parents are still in town; and we're trying to cram in too much in too few days -- as usual!

Hope everyone has a blast tomorrow! Take Care. And I'll see you all in glorious 2012. Well - at least I hope it's a helluva lot better than 2011!
