On behalf of breast cancer patients, survivors, and advocates across the country, I urge you to ensure that women have access to vital breast cancer services by supporting the six month Medicaid extension.

It is unwise and unfair to deny lifesaving cancer screening and treatment services to those who need it. That's why I'm asking you to support the enhanced federal Medicaid funding. Women's lives are in the balance.

We need to let our representatives know how important it is that they approve this important funding. Write to your representative today and urge him or her to protect women's access to breast health services by approving the extension for Medicaid funding.

If the House approves the enhanced Medicaid funding, it will help alleviate financial strains on state budgets, meaning states will be able to avoid even deeper cuts to safety-net programs, increasing access to breast cancer screening services for low-income, uninsured, and underinsured women.

We must be heard – don't cut vital safety-net programs!

Thanks, McSpocky - My wife is a 2 time breast cancer survivor. I should have her do some stuff here as she works with Breastcancer.org and knows a lot. Thank you for posting this vital info. I know I had spoken to a vine member who is currently going through this. Mammograms basically saved my wife's life and she was diagnosed at a young age (42). I know that they do not feel women in their 40's should have access to screening because it is supposedly rare before age 50 but she has found that not to be true and thinks screening is vital starting at age 40 and even younger with a family history. It is crucial that women not be cut off from financial help with screening. Thanks again, Darryl
